Matthew's Evaluation

My name is Matthew and I have chosen to make a music video for my preliminary task and a four panel accompaniment and music magazine advert for my ancillary task.

Francesca's Evaluation

My name is Cesca and for my media project i produced a music video, a sour-panel album cover and a poster advertising the album.
I researched conventions of music video in order to apply them to my own video. I also analyzed three videos and took ideas from them to use in mine.

My partner and I both shared out the task of filming and editing. For example, I filmed the shots with Courtney and Matt filmed the shots with Alex.




I produced the album cover but the poster and other images, we shared the task of editing.

Question 1  In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media texts.

The response will be filmed as a commentary and edited.

To answer this question, again we filmed our responses but did not edit it as we did for question one because we wanted some variety in our answers.

Ancillary Feedback

Here is some additional feedback for our ancillary task: 

Feedback for ancillary tasks.

We each gave out 7 questionnaires in relation to the album and poster. Here is one of them.

From all of the questionnaires, i could see that the colour and font worked well and complimented each other. The imagery was effective also and helped create a clear brand image.  However, the majority did state that the album looked quite blank in particular the front cover.

From this feedback i can see that some elements we have used are very effective and worked really well. Especially the fading out and sped up shots of Courtney. However it was clear that our editing could be improved as people noticed that some limbs disappeared in some shots. overall we obtained good feedback which was very useful.

 This is our poster. It could be improved but due to our limited time we may only be able to improve some qualities of it.

This is the improved version and we will gather some feedback for all of our ancillary tasks to see what is most effective and what works well.

Audience Feedback: Final Video

We asked a cross section of 10 (5 people each) what they thought of the video and encouraged them to give us creative criticism as well as positive feedback, so we could ascertain how to improve the video.

Update.

Both Matthew and myself came into college on monday the 21st December to work on our product. We were able to complete our video and album cover but we have allowed time for alterations.
We may change the front cover by adding Alex onto it but he will be in focus to stand out.
Also, with our video we are thinking about filming alex and courtney walking down a path and filming them from behind and taking the sound of their footsteps and adding it to the end of our video because it seems to end quite suddenly even though that is the way the song is.
