General conventions of metal.

On stage, when performing, metal artists tend to take over the stage with a quite aggressive nature in many cases.
The instruments used are the typical ones used in most bands I.e an electric guitar(s), bass guitar, drums and microphone.
Metal tends to follow a stereotypical image but is still unique for example, costumes are composed of black/dark clothing (possible leather jackets), tattoos, piercings, long hair and are usually associated with head banging or what is known as 'moshing' hence the nickname 'moshers'.  As you can see in the images below;

This artist helps demonstrate how metal artists wear leather and studs to make them look quite unapproachable which creates a stereotypical image of metal but again allows it to remain unique.

Slipknot uses a masked idea and all of the masks are different and exaggerate the different identities which metal can take.

Usually, metal bands have a male vocalist but
this artist allows a alternative image as there is a female vocalist instead.

The album covers found for metal are used to give the impression that the artist is alternative from the common society and also there is usually an image which expresses fear or hate. For example,

What we can take from this is the fact that we can also use the dark image that metal has for our product. This includes the dark text and disturbing imagery.
We will take these conventions and try to apply it to our music video and artist.
